REGULATORY RADAR - The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has released guidance for employers on re-opening office buildings in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

REGULATORY RADAR - On May 20, the Chicago City Council passed an ordinance protecting employees from retaliation from employers for following public health guidelines related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

REGULATORY RADAR - On August 20, 2021, China's National People's Congress passed a law designed to protect online user data privacy, which will go into effect on November 1.

REGULATORY RADAR - On March 3, 2022, U.S. President Joe Biden signed a bill into law that bans pre-dispute employment arbitration agreements for sexual harassment and sexual assault claims.

REGULATORY RADAR - AB 979 is a California law which required California-headquartered public companies to have a certain number of ethnically and racially diverse or LGBTQ+ members on their boards of directors. On April 1, 2022, this law was struck down by the Superior Court of California.

REGULATORY RADAR - The Los Angeles Superior Court recently ruled to overturn California鈥檚 law requiring companies to include women on their boards of directors. The gender diversity law was found to be in violation of the California Constitution鈥檚 equal protection clause.
