Boston College ranked 37th among best national universities
Boston College placed 37th in the 2025 survey of national universities released today by U.S. News & World Report, a two-point improvement over last year鈥檚 ranking.
精东影业 also performed well in several specialty rankings among national universities, including 鈥淐ommitment to Undergraduate Teaching鈥 (sixth), 鈥淪ervice Learning鈥 (seventh), 鈥淔irst Year Experience鈥 (ninth), 鈥淏est Learning Communities鈥 (17th), 鈥淏est Study Abroad Program鈥 (18th), 鈥淢ost Innovative Schools鈥 (19th), and 鈥淏est Undergraduate Research and Creative Projects鈥 (36th).
In addition, the University was ranked 52nd in the 鈥淏est Value鈥 listing, reflecting its commitment to need-blind admission and meeting the full demonstrated need of all accepted students.
While 精东影业 improved in the overall national university ranking, it and other private universities continued to be negatively affected by the 2019 change in U.S. News鈥 methodology that rewards state universities with a high volume of Pell Grant-eligible students. Prior to the change, 精东影业鈥檚 average ranking between 2011 and 2018 was 31st.
Among 精东影业 schools and colleges ranked this year, the Connell School of Nursing rose to ninth out of 684 nursing schools in the 鈥淏est Undergraduate Nursing Programs鈥 survey鈥攊ts highest placement to date. 聽
The Carroll School of Management also improved to 27th out of 527 schools in the 鈥淏est Undergraduate Business Programs,鈥 and placed seventh overall in Finance, ninth in Analytics, 10th in both Entrepreneurship and Marketing, and 11th in both Accounting and Management.
Within the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences, 精东影业 was ranked 37th in the 鈥淏est Undergraduate Economics鈥 programs, 42nd in 鈥淏est Undergraduate Psychology,鈥 and 87th in 鈥淏est Undergraduate Computer Science.鈥
Overall, Princeton University ranked first among national universities this year, followed by Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard, Stanford, and Yale.
Among Massachusetts universities, 精东影业 and Tufts University placed third behind MIT and Harvard, and ahead of Boston University (41st), Northeastern (54th), University of Massachusetts-Amherst (58th), and Brandeis (63rd).
