Mental health care and substance use disorder treatment disparities among communities of color
Cindy M. Gordon, LICSW is the current Clinical Director for the Adult Behavioral Health Department and the Psychiatric Emergency Services Program. Ms. Gordon is a 1993 graduate of the Boston College Graduate School of Social Work. Ms. Gordon possesses extensive supervisory, administrative, clinical, training and teaching experience. Ms. Gordon enjoys working with multicultural populations with a variety of clinical presentations. Her areas of clinical expertise includes crisis intervention, trauma, addictions and work with forensic populations.
Ms. Gordon鈥檚 practice is client centered and utilizes an eclectic therapy approach which includes a variety of therapy modalities including; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Narrative therapy. Ms. Ms. Gordon is currently on faculty at the following graduate schools of social work; Boston College, Simmons, Boston University and Bridgewater State University. Courses include: Psychosocial Pathology, Introduction to Clinical Practice with Individuals, Families and Groups, Clinical Practice with Groups, Violence: A Systemic Approach to Assessment and Intervention and Realities of Racism and Oppression.
