Foundations of liberalism, the relation between religion and politics, the foundations of the social sciences.
Nasser Behnegar is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Boston College. He received his M.A. in economics and Ph.D. from the Committee on Social Thought of the University of Chicago. The themes of his research include the foundations of liberalism, the relation between religion and politics, and the foundations of the social sciences.
He is the author of Leo Strauss, Max Weber, and the Scientific Study of Politics (University of Chicago Press, 2003), and is currently working on a book-length study of the liberalism of John Locke.听He teaches courses on classical and early modern political philosophy, Islamic political philosophy, Shakespeare's political thought, and Nietzsche.
