Associate Professor of Accounting听Mary Ellen Carter听has been named president-elect of the Financial Accounting and Reporting Section of the American Accounting Association. She will serve as president听for the 2020鈥21 term.

Curtis Chan, assistant professor of management and organization, received a 2019 Outstanding Reviewer Award from the Academy of Management Review. Moreover, Chan has been invited to join that journal鈥檚 editorial review board.

The seventh edition of Information Systems: A Manager鈥檚 Guide to Harnessing Technology, by Associate Professor of Information Systems John Gallaugher, won a 2019 Textbook Excellence Award from the Textbook and Academic Authors Association.

Accenture Professor听Katherine Lemon听(Marketing) has been elected chair of the board of directors of the American Marketing Association for the 2020鈥21 term.听听

鈥淥n Withholding Capacity from Strategic Patients,鈥 a paper that Assistant Professor of Operations Management Nan Liu co-authored with PhD student Yunchao Xu and Vice Dean of Faculty Mor Armony (both of NYU Stern), was a finalist in the 2019 INFORMS Health Application Society Student Paper Competition.

Associate Professor of Finance听Nadya Malenko听has been appointed to the board of directors of the Financial Intermediation Research Society. In addition, Malenko, who is also the Giuriceo Family Faculty Fellow, has been named academic director of the Midwest Finance Association and research member of the European Corporate Governance Institute.听听

惭补谤办别迟颈苍驳鈥檚听Gergana Nenkov听补苍诲听Hristina Nikolova听earned the Franco Nicosia Competitive Paper Award at the 2019 Association for Consumer Research Conference in Atlanta. Nenkov is an assistant professor and the Haub Family Faculty Fellow. Nikolova is the Diane Harkins Coughlin and Christopher J. Coughlin Sesquicentennial Assistant Professor.

Associate Professor of Marketing听Nailya Ordabayeva听has received the听Journal of Consumer Research听Outstanding Reviewer Award for 2018-19. As well, a study Ordabayeva co-authored,听鈥淭he Impostor Syndrome from Luxury Consumption,鈥澨齱on the Best Paper Award at the European Association for Consumer Research Conference, the Best Paper Award at the Monaco Symposium on Luxury, Honorable Mention in the Franco Nicosia Best Competitive Paper competition at the Association for Consumer Research Conference, and the 3rd Place Award in the Best Paper competition at the LVHM-SMU Luxury Research Conference. Co-author Dafna Goor won the Marketing Science Institute鈥檚 Alden G. Clayton Doctoral Dissertation Proposal Competition for her dissertation based on the study.

Assistant Professor of Information Systems听Mike Teodorescu听has been appointed a visiting scholar at MIT, where he wields his expertise in machine learning.
