Jeffrey Pontiff is a professor in the Seidner Department of Finance at the Boston College Carroll School of Management. He has teaching and research interests in the area of corporate finance and capital markets and his research has been published in journals such as the聽Journal of Finance,听Journal of Financial Economics,听American Economic Review,听Quarterly Journal of Economics,听Review of Financial Studies, and the聽Rand Journal. His papers have won numerous聽awards including both the Jensen Prize (first place), Amundi Smith Breeden Prize (first place), and the Sharpe Award (first place). He has held research or teaching positions at University of Washington, UCLA, Emory, Harvard Business School, National University of Singapore, ESCP-Europe, EPFL, Northeastern, and the Institute for Financial Research (Stockholm).
He is a Vice President at the Financial Management Association International,听an associate editor at the聽Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis,听Financial Management,听and the聽Journal of Wine Economics.聽In the past, he has served as聽the executive editor at the聽Review of Asset Pricing Studies, and an associate editor聽at the聽Review of Financial Studies听补苍诲听Management Science. He is a co-founder and past president of the Financial Research Association, and a past director for the Western Finance Association.
