Qualifications
The position is for an appointment to the聽Perspectives Program, an interdisciplinary core program of four courses that studies major works of Western culture. We are specifically seeking those who can teach and contribute to the curriculum and pedagogy of聽Modernism and the Arts, a year-long, twelve credit course in which students study developments across the expressive arts, with particular focus on the distinctive features that appear in twentieth- and twenty-first century European, American and global culture. The ability to teach聽Perspectives on Western Culture,聽also offered by the Perspectives Program, is strongly preferred.
Applicants must have a record of excellence in teaching philosophy, as well as a demonstrated commitment to scholarship. In addition to a 3-3 course load, the position includes responsibility for undergraduate advising within the context of Boston College鈥檚 commitment to聽formative liberal arts education.
